Lion Dance, colored pencil, 2022, 9” x 12”

As a kid, traditions may be seen as odd or unnecessary, especially when other kids around you don’t celebrate the same ones as you. But as you grow, a fondness for tradition grows as well. It connects families and friends together and flowers memories and experiences that wouldn’t happen otherwise. Those fleeting moments twinkle before they die out, and you begin to wonder, “if only I had appreciated them more when I had the chance.”
